The construction consisted of site-work surrounding the building for modification of the roads and parking areas immediately adjacent to the exterior of the addition, the main addition itself, and modifications to the existing structure allowing for the addition to function concurrently with the existing program spaces.
The construction work was directed by the CARE Foundation and through its representatives. Most of the various subcontracts were let thru the Foundation, except those indicated above, and CARE representatives directed ALL subcontractors. Issues related to divisions of work and responsibilities were to be decided by them and through guidelines established by the AIA and typically shown in the AIA A-201 General Conditions.
The CARE Foundation principal representative was Mike Beck of Beck Construction. The Foundation remained principal Owner of the facility until construction was complete and the Western Dubuque School District then took possession of the building. |
