CEDAR RIVER TRAIL EXTENSION
Cedar Rapids, IA

Text Box:
Ament designed and prepared construction plans, specifications, and a cost opinion for the construction of approximately two (2) miles of 10'-wide hot-mix asphalt (HMA) recreational trail located on and adjacent to the abandoned CRANDIC Railway Company right-of-way in southwest Cedar Rapids

The trail extended roughly 9,400 feet from the existing recreational trail terminus at Tait Cummins Park to just south of Ely Road, all in southwest Cedar Rapids.  The project included boundary, control and topographic surveys.

The project also included:

Determination of the appropriate route for the trail extension.

Development of a type, size and location plan for a 100'-0" x 14'-0" pre-engineered full through box bridge to carry the recreational trail over the Union Pacific Railroad.

Design of a twin 8' x 6' RCB culvert and the horizontal and vertical layout of approximately 5,000 square feet of modular block retaining wall.

Preparation of right-of-way acquisition plats and temporary construction easement exhibits to accommodate project construction.

As you can see, this trail is a beautiful place to enjoy during the warm season!
